How Metaskills works

A training conversation on the Metaskills platform follows four steps: the learner chooses a scenario, talks to an AI avatar, receives structured feedback and watches their competency profile grow. The avatar stays in character, reacts to what the learner actually said and challenges vague answers. The cycle can be repeated as many times as needed, because the avatar never gets tired and never judges.

In Metaskills, Practice mode is a realistic conversation with the avatar supported by real-time guidance, while Master mode is free practice without hints or live feedback. A Master conversation ends with comprehensive feedback on strengths and areas for improvement. Both modes are preceded by the Learn stage, where easy-to-navigate slides explain the key concepts and strategies needed for the conversation.

After each Metaskills conversation, the learner receives structured feedback tied to specific moments: what worked, what did not and what to say instead. The learner can also revisit the full transcript of the conversation and compare the AI assessment with their own self-assessment. The feedback offers specific alternatives for the situation at hand, not general advice about communication.

Every conversation on the Metaskills platform updates the learner's Digital Twin, a dynamic competency profile built from simulation data, behavioural indicators, self-assessment and AI feedback. The Digital Twin shows competency level, strengths, gaps, progress over time and what to practise next. It is not a personality test: it maps observable behaviour in conversations, not personality, emotions or private inner states.

Metaskills does not require a VR headset: the web version runs in a browser with instant access and no installation. The VR version is optional and suits onboarding, events or advanced learning, and Metaskills offers plug-and-play VR kits with pre-installed software for rent. In both versions, learners can speak, type or choose their responses, whichever feels more comfortable.

Metaskills offers both ready-made training modules and custom scenarios. The Training Library contains ready-made simulations on topics such as feedback, delegation, difficult conversations and healthcare communication. With Custom AI Simulations, Metaskills builds scenarios from an organisation's own situations, competency model, terminology and assessment criteria, and the organisation's subject matter experts review and test them before deployment.

Metaskills hosts its production infrastructure and customer data in the European Union, encrypts data in transit with TLS 1.2 or newer and encrypts stored data at rest. Access follows the user role and the principle of least privilege. Metaskills does not use customer data, conversations or transcripts to train AI models, and it signs a Data Processing Agreement on request.

An organisation can start using Metaskills by booking a demo that includes a live simulation, or by running a Custom Pilot. In a Custom Pilot, Metaskills turns one real situation into 1-3 AI simulations, runs them for a selected group in the browser and shares the conclusions, so the organisation can decide whether to scale or stop. Metaskills is sold to companies and organisations.
